The value of mathematics

Meanwhile, the Reform think tank launches on 2 June its report “The value of Mathematics”. The event appears to be one of the first ever tentative attempts by the Conservative party to test detailed policy programmes. Interestingly,  mathematical education is chosen  as a testing ground. The main speaker at the launch is Michael Gove MP, Shadow Secretary of State for Children, Schools and Families, but credibility to the event is given by participation of Tony Gardiner, well-known champion of mathematical education. It is an interesting development, and is worth watching.
